The design, development, and manufacturing process of the Nissan GT-R50 Ital Design has been unveiled. With all this effort, $1USD million isn’t this cheap !? (the video is linked at the very bottom)
◼️Nissan GT-R50 Italdesign was created in this way
“R50 GT-R out of the limit”, “R50” announced jointly by Nissan and Italdesign. This is a project jointly promoted by the two companies to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Nissan GT-R and the 50th anniversary of Italdesign. It is very interesting because the design is distributed by Nissan, and the production is distributed by Ital Design, and it is also announced that this vehicle is not limited to just a concept car, but will be sold for a limited amount of “50 or less” at a price of about $1 million USD.
Here is a link you can make an order (click here to apply). However, Italdesign’s main part of their work is designing as you can see their company name though they will be production side rather than designing side. it will be very interesting when they complete.
In addition, in the video released this time, “GT-R50 ItalDesign” is designed and actually manufactured, and even the driving state is included, but there are also parts that I could not see until now. For example, for the “movable rear wing” lifted in the above image, not only the top and bottom but also the “angle” seems to change. There are two dampers for “elevation” and “angle adjustment”, and it may be the same unit used for Shillon and Veyron in “Bugatti” that belongs to the same group as Ital Design (It looks a little different) . Of course, the design process and the state of the clay model production are not usually disclosed, so it seems to be a very valuable image.
◾️How they create the Nissan GT-R 50 Italdesign
Nissan GT-R50 Italdesign begins with a design sketch. The GT-R50 is not a “temporal GT-R”, it is based on the R35 GT-R, but it is open to the public that it has been imagined that it has been released from all restrictions.
After that, goes to 3D. It is announced that the body color is “Liquid Kinetic Gray” and the accent color is “Energetic Sigma Gold”. The grill that extends across the width is the highlight of the GT-R50.
This is Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice president r Global Design Nissan .
And the production of clay model. It seems that the material of this clay = clay differs depending on the design house and carrozzeria, and Ken Okuyama wrote in his book “The clay used by Pininfarina is hard and solid so the modification does not work, it was always a one-off game”.
Though, The clay used by Italdesign seems to be soft in the video.
Production of GT-R50 requires a base car, that is, a “donor car”, not a “zero base”.
And the donor car is “GT-R NISMO”.
The roof of the GT-R50 is 54mm lower than the GT-R NISOMO, which is of course realized “cut and pasted”.
Nissan Motor’s Mamoru Aoki Product Chief Designer also appeared. Checking the GT-R50 production with a strict look.
The delicate work involved in manufacturing is as if creating a work of art. The inside of the muffler is even polished by human hand .
In addition to this, the glass and wheels are also manufactured in one-off, and you can see that it takes a lot of time to look at each process, but if you only produce 50 vehicle with this amount of time, you can say “1 vehicle for $1 Million” is maybe cheap.
And DONE! .
Body size is total length 4784 mm (4690), total width 1992 mm (1895), total height 1316 mm (1370). * Figures in parentheses are the base numbers of NISSAN GT-R NISMO
Now Let’s see the video
